Hi, I am Monique
Having worked with plants for over 20 years (starting corporately as a plant category assistant when I was first out of uni) to establishing and running my own garden centre Greener Life in Hawthorn East I know a bit about them! After closing down my nursery a few years ago and struggling to come to terms with the loss of a lifelong friend, with encouragement from my partner and friends we decided I needed to get back to working with plants. In March 2019 we set up a little plant and pot shop in The Shed, I held my first Plant Party and Greener Life Inverloch was propagated!!! I have been a plant lover for a long time but what I am most passionate about is helping people get the right plant for the right spot and teaching them basics so they thrive- why ? because plants make people happy. I have first hand experience over several years of seeing how plants and gardening can positively impact a person's well being so if you want to get a bit of living greenery into your home pop into Greener Life Inverloch so we can talk plants.

Monique brings a ute full of plants and pots and talks plants for about an hour or two then you and your guests have the chance to shop and ask questions. As the host you have the benefits of seeing how the plants look in your home and to ask questions about your existing plants and ideas.

We understand the only thing you really want to know about fungus gnats is “how do I get rid of them?” but here at Greener Life Inverloch we want to try and teach you a little bit of bug science so you can understand them a little bit more. WHY do you ask – because it may help you to change your plant care routines a little and actually stop them coming back. You know; stop the spread, flatten the curve , eradicate not just get rid of the ones you can see. The role fungus gnats play in nature (yes there is a role) is to assist the decomposition process on the forest floor. They feed on rotting wood, fungi, organic matter and plant roots of weakened or diseased plant SO when they decide to infiltrate your home you will find them infesting areas where water pools and there is enough moisture for fungi to grow; think leaky pipes, damp compost, mould and mildew spots, underneath pots and of course ; overwatered plants!
